Caravan To Peace

Our film – Stealing The Light – had it’s world premier in Albuquerque, NM at the KiMo Theater on April 9th. It was a huge success – with about 300 – 400 people there. We were able to raise $8,000 for Green Village Schools which was wonderful, and our film had a great response. We had the opportunity to meet a lot of people with the same passion as us, and that is always exciting. The event was hosted by Project PeacePal -http://www.peacepal.org/ – and they put a lot of hard work and effort into making this event so successful – so a huge shout-out goes out to them and all of their volunteers.

After the film there was a short concert by Rahim Alhaj.

This is where the event was held.

We can’t believe the premier of our film is this Friday!  We have completed the editing and sound mix for the premier screening 🙂 It feels good.

If you want to by tickets go to: http://www.ticketmaster.com/Peacepal-Caravan-To-Peace-tickets/artist/1400220 – it will be at the historic KiMo Theater, downtown Albuquerque NM.

Update on our progress

We have locked our story structure and for the most part all of our b-roll! We’re finalizing voice-over actor selections, and we’re working on creating a few graphics for the film. Then it will be time to pay attention to all the nitty-gritty and technical aspects to getting out film ready for it’s screening on April 9th! (Below is a photo of our edit suite =D)

We’re finalizing our stroy structure and edit of the film. We have made several “paper” edits. Here is a photo of one of the script pages full of mark-ups. It has so many sratches, highlights and instructions on it, that at this point it’s hard to keep track of what is current and what is not. We thought it would be nice to post a little something about the process.

We are happy to announce that we have dived into the world of blogging. We wanted a convenient way to keep everyone informed about the current progress of the film and upcoming screenings. Please be sure to follow us on Twitter and become a fan on Facebook. You’re also welcome to join our mailing list! This can all be done by clicking on the Links on the left under the Blogroll box.

Please check back for more exciting news.

Director Aimie Burns will be interviewed by NM public radio station KUNM this Sunday and the piece will air on March 27th. If you’re in the area tune in!
